Dear friends and colleagues,
The Panel of the EANS Vascular Section is happy to announce the first BOOT-CAMP FOR VASCULAR AND ENDOVASCULAR NEUROSURGERY, that will be held in Milan, Italy, in March 2023.The idea of this Course comes out of the necessity to find new ways to train Young Neurosurgeons in vascular pathologies.To remain at the forefront of evaluating, caring for, and treating patients with cerebrovascular disease, vascular neurosurgery must evolve toward a specialty, mastering the knife as well as the catheter. We strongly believe that it is time for European neurosurgeons to start training residents in endovascular neurosurgery in the same way we train neurosurgeons in every other neurosurgical discipline, as is already the case in the rest of the world.In this direction go the Endovascular Courses in Berlin and Amsterdam, organised respectively by Prof Peter Vajkoczy and Prof Jeroen Boogaarts, that have aroused an incredible interest.This Course is divided in two parts: a theoretical Part (2-day web-seminars) (Part 1) and a week later the attendees will be involved in the Hands-on exercise on site (2 days practical sessions) with 15 faculty members (Part 2). There is no limit number for the attendees that would participate to the theoretical part: otherwise, there will be a maximum of 30 attendees for the Hands-on sessions, to permit have all the time necessary to perform clipping and by-passes using Placenta models and coiling and flow-diverter stent, always supervised by the faculty members.The international faculty consists of world renowned vascular and endovascular neurosurgeons that will be happy to provide insights into their clinical activities and experiences.We hope to see you in Milan.
